How This Works
People love movies, and diligent parents mind the ratings and content of movies that they let their children view. What I find interesting is when Christian parents make blanket statements about rated R or PG-13 movies, but pay little to no attention to what their kids are reading. So this is a fun exercise that I developed to put into perspective what type of content can be found within the Bible, I mean its the Bible right. When you think of the Bible you don't think of Sex, Violence, Nudity and Gore! But it is there!
While I will concede immediately that moving images affect us differently than reading, your imagination and understanding of what you are reading can be just as dangerous if not more so. Now listen carefully, I am not on a crusade to restrict the reading of the Bible until certain ages! I am merely trying to provoke thought and consideration.
The Rating Scale
| G - General Audiences All ages appropriate No nudity, no drugs, no sex, minimal violence, and limited use of language that goes beyond polite conversation. | |

| PG - Parental Guidance Suggested Some material may not be suitable for children. May have mild violence and/or action, mild language and sexual references, brief nudity (revealing attire), intense images, sexual themes and LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bi-Sexual, Trans gendered), crude humor or very mild drug references. |

| PG-13 - Parents Strongly Cautioned Some material may be inappropriate for children under 13. May contain moderate language, minimal strong language, some explicit nudity, intense violence, gore, some sex, or mild drug content. |

| R - Restricted May contain very strong language or strong sexual emphasis, strong explicit nudity, strong violence and gore, or strong drug content. |
|
| NC-17 - "No Children under 17" May contain very strong sexual or offensive language, strong explicit nudity, very strong gore or disturbing violence, or graphic drug abuse. |
